About Aurie (Updated October 2009)

The one and only

Experience Aurie says it all I guess. I am an experience for better or worse. My heart is in the right place. I am silly and serious. I am polished and can have no behavior when mi ready. I am romantic, a lover, a fighter, a truly passionate person. I am a pragmatist. I believe in having compassion but I am unwavering in my convictions. I am a diplomat. I am many things and yet still I am learning more about myself everyday. I am just scratching the surface. I am who I am and I am proud of it.

I grew up in the “Land of Wood & Water,” Jamaica, until I moved to the US at a relatively early age. I still stay connected with Jamaica through family, friends, and continuing to have a personal stake in my country of birth even if I don’t get to go all the time.

I started with some good old fashioned Jamaican early childhood education courtesy of the Mona Prep school traditions that many of you know. After leaving for America, I’ve been schooled with some strict Jesuit High School training and have successfully completed my B.S. in Finance from Rutgers. Exactly…a B.S. in Finance. In any case, I guess I know one or two things from all those hours logged and dedicated to that achievement. Thank God that I got through. The next phase currently in production is a MBA from New York Institute of Technology.

I’ve had many opportunities to broaden my horizons. I’ve been to Europe a couple of times (8 countries to date), 13 States in the Union, all over Jamaica of course, Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, and many more to come hopefully. These are where my perspective on many things in life has been shaped.

I can’t finish the about me section without mentioning how deeply I love my family. They keep me grounded and always stress putting things in perspective. I get a lot of my passionate traits from them and they are a large part of why I am able to achieve and strive to achieve any successes that I have accomplished.

I am also the luckiest man in the world because of my Jamaican Jewel who I cannot say enough about. I love her something serious and we are truly a team. I love her with everything I am, everything I will be, and everything I could ever hope to be.

Finally…

I have a lot of things to say and share on a variety of topics. I certainly enjoy and welcome feedback of any kind. Make my spot on the web your place. I look forward to hearing from you all.

Yuh dun know seh everyting is everyting. Eva bless!

Aurie

I have to agree with firefly, it is a very nice “About” page. What a small world, as I read your blog as well, firefly. ;)

I can’t believe that you were singing at St Pauls cathedral. That must have been amazing.

Your background sounds very interesting. Wie kommts, dass du Deutsch sprechen kannst?

Thought I’d check out your bio. I used to live by Rutgers, well, pretty close and I frequented New Brunswick at that time.

I am also in the choir at our church and looking forward to the Advent season with all it’s festivities and concert. You sound like you are on a good steady path. Keep your perspective and hold on to humility as ego can really pull you away from what is imp0rtant.

Well, the Jamaicans have done it again, yes… we ARE good like that.
Winning gold, and taking a double second place that is what you call phenomenal. And Usain Bolt, wow, his performance makes me continue to stand proud as a Jamaican.
It’s good that I get the opportunity to express myself on my bro.’s site.
Loving you and keeping it real ‘Jam Dung’ nice.
