Jamaica Strikes Once Again
A superb performance by Melanie Walker just shows how dynamic the new crop of Jamaican sprint talent can be. Melaine trailed after 290 meters on the track, then made a decisive move to overtake Sheena Tosta of the USA for 10 meter victory in the 400m hurdles. Melaine follows in the footsteps of Deon Hemmings, also a gold medalist in the same event from past Olympics. Melaine’s 52.64 is a new Olympic record and Jamaican record as well.
